Chuck Ragan

“I heard Chuck was living near me, which made me crazy. I love Chuck’s music. We collaborated quickly, but memorably. He sings the chorus on “Fever Saved Me” off of REDWOOD SUMMER. I played cello on a couple of tracks on his album Gold Country.”

Aaron Ross & The Heirs Of Mystery

“Aaron is one of the most amazing songwriters I’ve ever heard. I felt like the fact that he happened to live in the Nevada City area was probably one of the main reasons I ended up living there.

I got to record with Aaron twice. The first album Shapeshifter I played cello for.

The next album I ended up producing: Paranormal Attitude

Aaron is someone whose music you have to hear if you haven’t already.”

Huff This!

“Huff This! is make up of two of my favorite people I’ve met in the past few years. To make a long story short, Molly and Alison came to one of my shows in Grass Valley and basically let me know that I was going to play with them.

And I was glad. We collaborated on their stuff, eventually recording some tracks off their album in a former 60’s rock star’s mansion in L.A. After that, Molly Allis supplied the drumming backbone of my album REDWOOD SUMMER. The best!”

Station to Station Recording

“I have to give credit and thanks where it is due. Many of the Nevada City songwriters I collaborated with came directly through Dana at Station To Station Recording. He is one of my favorite engineers I’ve ever worked with. He nailed the sound of the cello, which is not that easy to do. He was fast, efficient, and courteous. No drama, a constructively critical ear, and a really good guy.”

Mariee Sioux

“Mariee is the best! And the nicest... again I had the honor of recording on her truly epic album ‘Faces In The Rocks’.

Her lyrics, her delivery, her meaning are all powerful. I remember walking in to the recording studio and being a little overwhelmed by its transformation with sage, tarot cards and indigenous drums... truly a great musical experience.”

Alela Diane

“Almost by accident Alela called me up and within a couple days we met up and spent an evening recording cello on a few tracks off her beautiful ‘To Be Still’.

My favorite result of that collaboration is her lovely (there’s just no other word for her voice) song White As Diamonds...
